2 Former Blackwater employees ordered to Prison

This drama has been unfolding for years now, and the guys involved finally have exhausted their last appeal.

Now since I wasnt there I cant pass judgement with 100% certainty, however there are two scenarios that played out here.

Either….

1) They did what they were accused of and shot a vehicle that was retreating from them and killed the people inside without just cause

or

2) They WERE acting in self defense and were justified, but were hung out to dry as an example.

I think that there is a mix of the two, often the situation itself can come so quick all one can do is react, I think they made a bad call or were too ready to shoot, but they felt they were in danger, but still made a bad call and were hung out to dry to help smooth things over with locals in the city.

Paravant has a mixed reputation and is not part of the larger DOS contract that Blackwater is more well known for, Paravant (who the two worked for) specializes in training Police.

All this just goes to show you that things overseas are not as cut and dry as you might think they are, things can get out of hand quickly and if you make the wrong call you could be facing losing your job or actual jail time.

Original Story from hampton Roads

Blackwater: Founder Admits CIA connection

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Erik Prince the former Owner and Founder of Blackwater Admitted to how the company was used as a virtual extension of the CIA in the 2000′s.

If you weren’t aware there were a number of charges against former executives of the company ranging from Gun running to many others.  However the charges were dropped after it was found that the company was operating under the orders of the CIA and other agencies…the same that left them out to dry for years.

This is a cautionary tale to all of you who want to Contract, be careful who you work for and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!

One document listed ERIK P (Erik Prince) as a CIA employee, and that

“The CIA routinely used Blackwater in missions throughout the world,” one document reads. “These efforts were made under written and unwritten contracts and through informal requests. On many occasions the CIA paid Blackwater nothing for its assistance. Blackwater also employed CIA officers and agents, and provided cover to CIA agents and officers operating in covert and clandestine assignments. In many respects, Blackwater, or at least portions of Blackwater, was an extension of the CIA.”

New Contract

Blackwater has won the contract for Department of State In Afghanistan.

Which means there will be jobs for the foreseeable future.  Regardless of who gets them however for the most part the people stay the same.  All that changes for the contractors is the name on the direct deposit and what tshirt they wear, so remember no matter WHO the contract is awarded to, as long as A CONTRACT is awarded you still have openings that need to be filled.

My book details how to write a resume for these companies not just BW, so dont worry if its for a position with SOC SMG or DYNCORP, the resume is tailored to be JOB SPECIFIC, the overall advice and tips i give you in the book fit anywhere for any company doing contracts but especially those doing military or Dept of State Contracts.

Blackwater Wins Benghazi

A article on Wired.com talks about how Blackwater has won, though they wont say so

The time when the Department of state thought they could get away with little to no security in most of the world is over, that experiment failed and they are turning to the men with guns again.

That means more contracts and more money.

There is a recommendation of 2.2 Billion more for security in the next decade for facilities as well as a rerouting of 1.3 billion for security from unspent iraq reconstruction funds.
